Gospel Coach Training

The SBCAL is partnering with Dr. Tom Wood and Church Multiplication Ministries to provide coaching and coach training for associational leaders. Tom is the co-author of the book, Gospel Coach. His approach is a Gospel-centered model, helping those practicing it to stay focused on our primary task of making disciples. It is a blend of coaching and mentoring. While there are other good coaching models, we believe the Gospel Coach approach will serve SBCAL and AMSs very well.

If you are interested in being trained, the date for associational leaders to begin the next Gospel Coach training is September 26-28, 2022 at the Holiday Inn & Suites, Airport North, Atlanta. The training event will be followed by six trihort sessions where groups of three trainees connect and learn together. Following these sessions, the participants take part in a Continue Workshop approximately six months later.  SBCAL members receive a 20% discount: from $1540 to $1232. The price includes 2 ½ days of training, materials (book & training manual), lunch/snacks, six trihort sessions, and one Continue Workshop. You are responsible for breakfast, dinner, and lodging.

Our first priority is to help AMSs learn these coaching methods so that we can help one another in associational ministry. We will also be able to use this in our own associations, helping pastors and leaders in coaching relationships.

Dr. Ray Gentry is excited that Dr. Bob Lowman, Executive Director, Metrolina Association, Charlotte, NC, serves as our SBCAL Gospel Coach Coordinator. To learn more, contact Bob at bob@metrolina.org, 704-375-1197, or go to the Church Multiplication Ministries training information page - www.cmmnet.org/pages/training-information
