Orlando, June 7-8, 2020Due to the cancelation of the 2020 SBC Annual Meeting in Orlando because of the coronavirus global pandemic, our SBCAL Administrative Team has also canceled our Annual Conference on June 7-8, 2020 that proceeds it. We do so with saddened hearts, as much prayer, planning and preparation has gone into the Annual Conference for you over the past year by our staff, Administrative Team, speakers/workshop leaders, and Ministry Fair sponsors.
We support Dr. Ronnie Floyd’s call to all Southern Baptists to, “pray for an end to this global pandemic and that God will bring His Church together at this time to sharpen our focus like never before.” We will not let this cancellation of our Annual Conference hinder the ministry of the SBCAL. We are more committed than ever to equip, encourage and network associational leaders year-round. Our membership remains strong, and a resource page for COVID-19 response helps for AMS’s has already been created at www.SBCAL.org/COVID-19. All registrations – including Pre-Conference tickets and extra meal tickets – will automatically apply to our next Annual Conference in Nashville, June 13-14, 2021, unless one requests a refund by June 1. If you are a ticket-holder and plan on attending in Nashville, we kindly ask you to allow us to move your registration over and hold your registration payment to lessen the financial hardship on SBCAL over the course of the next year. If you would like to request a refund, email Allison Gentry at [email protected] with the following message, “I would like to request a refund for [enter ticket holder’s name] to my original payment type for Eventbrite ticket # [enter ticket number] for the SBCAL Orlando Annual Conference.” All hotel reservations made through the SBCAL website or by calling and using group code “SBC” with the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Orlando at Seaworld are in the process of being canceled. We are communicating with the hotel daily and finalizing all the many details. Rest assured that all rooms will be canceled and the credit cards placed on file will not be charged. However, if anyone booked a room by a different means or at another hotel, you are responsible for canceling, for we do not have access to rooms other than those booked through the SBCAL room block.
